Renew Life

One of the two following:

Norwegian Gold Cerebrum

1 capsule daily

Super concentrated fish oil with 540 mg DHA and 27 mg EPA per capsule, plus 200mg Cereboost (American Ginseng Root). IFOS certified and Friend of the Sea certified.

DHA is the main omega-3 fatty acid in the brain. Evidence points to its protective effect in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, showing that it is most beneficial before brain function significantly declines and interferes with daily activities.xi,xii Cereboost helps support cognitive health and/or brain function by temporarily improving working memory capacity and attention accuracy.xiii Enteric-coated capsules made from fish gelatin. Added lipase.

Super Critical Omega

1 softgel daily

A potent, super-concentrated fish oil supplement with 790 mg of EPA and 140 mg of DHA per capsule, to help support brain function and cognitive health.

Omega-3 supplementation improves cognition and modifies brain activation in young adults. One study concludes that after an ‘EPA-rich supplementation, participants’ brains worked ‘less hard’ and achieved a better cognitive performance than prior to supplementation.xiv Enteric-coated capsules made from fish gelatin. Added lipase and 1000 IU Vitamin D.

Possible add-ons

IntestiNew

1 scoop daily

An easy-to-mix powder formulation made with soothing herbal ingredients that help to rebuild and repair the intestinal tract lining. Contains 5000mg of L-Glutamine and 200mg of N-Acetylglucosamine per serving, along with the ginger root, marshmallow root, and other soothing herbs for the gut.

L-glutamine is a major substrate used by enterocytes. Glutamine promotes enterocyte proliferation, regulates tight junction proteins, suppresses pro-inflammatory signaling pathways, and protects cells against apoptosis and cellular stresses during normal and pathologic conditions.xxviii

One of the two following:

MycoBotanicals Brain

2 capsules daily

Blend of medicinal mushrooms and botanicals to support concentration, memory, and cognitive functioning.

Lion’s Mane, the “Smart Mushroom”, shines in its ability to activate Nerve Growth Factor to aid in repair and regeneration in the nervous system.i, ii In a study done with elderly Japanese, it demonstrated its ability to improve cognition in cases of mild cognitive impairment.iii Reishi is traditionally known to assist with mental clarity and in-vitro and in-vivo studies are outlining those mechanisms of action and probable applications. One study highlights its triterpenoid content that has nerve growth factor-like neuronal survival-promoting effects,iv another states that it could be useful to enhance learning memory and cognitive function. Bacopa improves ADHD symptoms such as restlessness, impulsivity, learning problems, and a deficit of attention.vi

Lion’s Mane Capsules or Liquid Extract

Choose over MycoBotanicals Brain if need to avoid possible contraindications of botanicals.

2 capsules daily or 1 mL, 2 times daily

Supports cognitive function. Promotes mental clarity, focus, and memory. Provides cerebral and nervous system support.

One of the two following:

Flora 20-14

1 capsule daily

Restores and maintains a balance of healthy probiotics. In addition to being guaranteed free of dairy proteins, they are all tested free of soy and carry a gluten-free certification. Use as part of your foundational health program.

The gut-brain connection is an important factor when addressing brain and mental health. These two organs are connected both physically and biochemically in a number of different ways. Probiotics are becoming potential aides in boosting mood and cognition. Addressing intestinal dysbiosis is critical to the overall health of the nervous system. This probiotic formula offers 14 unique probiotic strains, that can withstand stomach acid, to restore and maintain a balance of healthy probiotics in cases of dysbiosis. Includes four genuses of probiotics, Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Lactococcus, and Streptococcus, each selected for their adhesion to human epithelial cells and their affinity to living in different areas of the intestinal tract. This variability ensures benefit throughout the entire intestinal tract.
