Three products to nourish adrenal health, promote energy and a sense of calm during extended stress, and provide nutritional support for sustainable energy.

When a stressful situation goes on too long, requiring great effort with little relief, we can feel depleted.

While the brain recognizes a stressor, it is the adrenal glands that respond by enhancing a  “fight-or-flight” response and increasing cortisol during periods of chronic stress. But, the adrenal glands require nourishment and sleep to continue functioning, and these basics can be hard to come by in stressful times.

When feeling depleted, the idea of making lifestyle changes (exercising, cooking healthier meals) can be overwhelming, and the guilt of knowing you should take a toll on your mood. It is easy at these times to increase reliance on stimulants like sugar or caffeine for bursts of energy and/or sedating substances like alcohol to wind down.

A much healthier approach to sustain energy in times of stress is nourishing nutrients and gentle calming agents. Vitamins B-12 and L-methylfolate support the formation of mood-balancing neurotransmitters. B vitamins and magnesium provide support for hard-working adrenal glands and energy processes in the body.

L-Theanine is a gentle calming agent that also supports focus for daily tasks. It can also be used in the evening to support restful sleep and may offer some relief from worrying.

B-Complex

1 capsule in the morning, with food

A potent, comprehensive array of essential B vitamins provided in their most bioavailable forms. These nutrients are required in many biochemical reactions in the body, including those that form stress response hormones in the adrenal glands and those involved in energy production on the cellular level.

  • Provides necessary nutrients to support sustained energy production*
  • Supports healthy neurotransmitter formation*
  • Pantothenic acid nourishes adrenal gland function, supporting normal stress response*

Magnesium Glycinate

3 capsules before bed

Provides a bioavailable form of magnesium attached to the amino acid glycine, which is a calming neurotransmitter that can aid in sleep quality. Magnesium is a mineral that is often insufficient in the modern diet, and when depleted, is associated with an increased risk of anxiety. Magnesium is also involved in the cellular production of energy and normal muscle relaxation.

  • Highly absorbable form of this essential mineral
  • Supports muscle comfort and relaxation
  • Assists in maintaining a calm mood and healthy sleep*

L-Theanine 200 mg

1 capsule during the day, 1 before bed

L-theanine is an amino acid found in green tea. While some soothing products for stress may be sedating, L-theanine can promote both calm and focus during the day without sedation. It may be taken during a stressful day or in the evening to aid in better sleep quality by helping to ease a worried mind.

  • Enhances attention and focus*
  • Promotes restful sleep*
  • Calms stress response*

Lifestyle tip: sleep, reduce or eliminate caffeine

Sleep: Sometimes, we need permission to do this. Consider this your prescription.

Reduce or eliminate caffeine: Your adrenal glands need nourishment, not stimulation.  After elimination, most people find that caffeine was doing less for them than they thought. Going cold turkey is most effective, but low energy points will ensue, so plan for extra rest. It may take two full weeks for energy to stabilize. Once it has, you will find the times of day when you used to feel low energy are not as low as before, and you will likely feel an improvement in your nighttime sleep. If going cold turkey is not an option, gradually substituting decaffeinated coffee is one way to ease the process.
