Loose Stools

Description: 

  • Consider low antigenic, easily digestible diet, such as the BRAT diet.
  • Consider Solufibre (AOR) to promote bowel regularity, enhance beneficial intestinal flora, reduce intestinal inflammation and reduce abdominal pain.

Total Protocol Duration: 6 weeks

IBD Relief or Pro GI Calm

2 capsules, two to three times per day, week 1 to 2

Description: Anti-inflammatory, reduces diarrhea. Enhances the protective functions of the immune system. Contains Saccharomyces boulardii.

Probiotic-3

1 capsule, three times per day with food, week 1 to 4

Description: Studied combination of probiotics that promote butyrate production, bifidobacterium growth and reduce intestinal pH.

Pro Andrographis

2 capsules, twice per day, week 1 to 2

Description: The “king of bitters.” Anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic and anti-viral. Reduces dysentery and intestinal mucus. Increase brush border enzyme secretion. Immunomodulating (TCM): removes “pathogenic heat” from the blood.

Pro GI Repair

1 scoop, twice per day before food (mix in 250mL liquid on an empty stomach), week 3 to 6

Description: Anti-inflammatory and promotes the healing of GI lining.

Pro DysbioX

1 softgel, three times per day, week 1 to 2

Description: Broad-spectrum anti-microbial. Anti-spasmodic-prevents bile duct colic.

Optional: Patient may experience mild mint taste after ingestion, which can be reduced by storing the formula in the fridge.

Saccharomyces boulardii

1 capsule, three times per day without food, week 1 to 2

Description: Use in addition to IBD Relief if higher dose of Saccharomyces boulardii is desired. Shown to reduce symptoms of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, traveller’s diarrhea, and C. difficile infections.
