Early Signs of Cold or Flu Protocol
Disclaimer
The Fullscript Integrative Medical Advisory team has developed or collected these protocols from practitioners and supplier partners to help health care practitioners make decisions when building treatment plans. By adding this protocol to your Fullscript template library, you understand and accept that the recommendations in the protocol are for initial guidance and may not be appropriate for every patient.
Early Signs of Cold or Flu Protocol
The key with this protocol is to start it at the first hint of a sore throat, sniffles or chills. The spray and lozenge format of the zinc and Biocidin act locally, working best by coating the site of a throat infection. Viracid backs this up with simultaneous systemic activity – a combination of antibacterial, antiviral and immune support. Vitamin D provides an important extra immune boost.
Take the following as needed every hour as soon as symptoms start for a max of 4 times per day, for 2 days. After that, drop down to taking these once per day for up to 2 weeks if support is still needed.
Orthomolecular – Viracid
Dose: 2 capsules
Active Ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Zinc, Astragalus, Elderberry Extract, Andrographis, Echinacea, L-Lysine, Acerola

Bio-Botanical Research – Biocidin Throat Spray

Other notes: Avoid all sugars, refined carbohydrates and alcohol during this time. Stay well hydrated. Get plenty of rest and avoid high stress situations.
Cautions: Avoid this protocol if there is a known nut allergy or allergy to any other ingredients in these products (including inactive ingredients), or if there is a history of excess vitamin A, vitamin D, or liver issues. To adapt for use in children over 4 years, omit the Viracid, reduce the Bio-D-Mulsion to 3 drops and switch to zinc liquid if the lozenge format is an issue.
