Asthma Phase 2: Secondary Protocol
Designed to support the gut-lung axis
Lung Cleanse™
2 tablespoons, once in the morning and once in the evening
Supports the normal function and health of the lungs. The formula contains traditional Chinese medicinal herbs that help dispel wind-heat, and remove damp and toxic heat. Lung Cleanse™ augments the pulmonary function through the clearance of environmental and bacterial toxins.
Resp-FX™
2 tablespoons, once in the morning and once in the evening
An airway enhancing botanical formula which decreases resistance in the respiratory airways and increases airflow to the lungs. Resp-FX™ also enhances alveolar ventilation and augments pulmonary function through the clearance of bacterial and environmental contaminants.
Inflam-FX™
2 tablespoons, once in the morning and once in the evening
Inflam-FX™ an anti-inflammatory product formulated with a combination of traditional Chinese herbs and modern nutraceuticals. Based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Inflam-FX™ help remove damp heat and relieve inflammatory conditions.
Probiotic Factors™
2 capsules, once in the morning
Probiotics act as immunomodulatory agents and activators of host defence pathways which suggest that they could influence disease severity and incidence at sites distal to the gut. There is increasing evidence that orally delivered probiotics are able to regulate immune responses in the respiratory system, particularly in the reduction of allergic inflammation.
Acomodil™
2 tablespoons, once in the morning
The interplay between neuroendocrine activity and psychological stress exacerbates allergic asthma. Psychological stress leads to eosinophilic airway inflammation through activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal pathway and autonomic nervous system. This is followed by the secretion of stress hormones into the blood, including glucocorticoids, epinephrine, and norepinephrine, which enhance Th2 and type 17 T-helper (Th17)-type asthma profiles in humans.
SinewGen™
1 scoop, once in the morning
Provides a broad spectrum of micro and macronutrients to maintain health.
Ultimate Fibre Plus™
1 teaspoon, once in the evening
Studies have shown that fiber reduces inflammation in the body and exhibits proven anti-inflammatory properties that can be beneficial in asthma. Soluble fibers reduce C-reactive protein and change the makeup of gut microbiome.
Quench-FX™
2 capsules, once in the morning and once in the evening
A combination of naturally sourced antioxidants formulated to counteract oxidative challenge in biological processes. Endogenous and exogenous reactive oxygen species, such as superoxide anion, hydroxyl radical, hypohalite radical, and hydrogen peroxide, and reactive nitrogen species, such as nitric oxide, peroxynitrite, and nitrite, play a major role in the airway inflammation and are determinants of asthma severity.
Guidelines for Administration: For patient compliance mix powders and liquids in water or juice. Recommended taking after meals. Patients are advised to consume an adequate amount of water.
Note: The recommended dosage is for adults. Practitioners are advised to adjust the dosage for pediatric patients.
Duration of Time: 12 weeks (patient dependent).
Precaution: Practitioners are advised to suggest ASL Protocol as per the patient’s condition and need.
Note: Leaky gut syndrome is a phenomenon of increased intestinal permeability due to the disruption of tight junctions and is thought to be related to many chronic diseases including asthma. One of the classical approaches used by integrative physicians to treat leaky gut syndrome is to repair intestinal permeability to prevent allergic cascade. The existence of the gut–lung axis and its implications in both health and disease could be profoundly important for both disease etiology and treatment.
