New Phlebotomy Options Now Live for Specialty Labs on Fullscript

Updated on July 7, 2025 | Published on July 7, 2025

  2. New Phlebotomy Options Now Live for Specialty L...

Patients can now book blood draws for specialty labs more easily than ever—addressing a common challenge where labs like Quest Diagnostics and Labcorp don’t support these draws. From preferred phlebotomists set by providers to independent local options and mobile visits through Getlabs, Fullscript is making it simpler for patients to complete their lab work and stay on track with care.

This update includes:

  • Preferred phlebotomists: Providers can now designate their trusted in-house or mobile phlebotomists as the default option. These appear first for patients during checkout—with clear contact details so booking is seamless.
  • Independent phlebotomy options: Patients can self-serve by finding local mobile and walk-in draw sites using a directory in Fullscript—no more support coordination needed.
  • Expanded Getlabs support: Patients can now use Getlabs to schedule mobile blood draws not just for Quest Diagnostics orders—but for specialty lab tests as well.

How It Works

Preferred Phlebotomy

Now you can keep using the phlebotomists you trust—right within Fullscript.

1. Set your preferred phlebotomist(s)

From Labs settings, account owners can add one or more of their trusted phlebotomy providers—including mobile or in-office options. Just add basic contact info and booking instructions—no integrations or paperwork required.

2. Patients see your recommendation first

When a patient checks out with a specialty test, your preferred phlebotomist appears first under sample collection options—clearly marked as “Preferred by your practitioner.” This selection includes service type, location, and any special notes (like who to ask for or how to pay).

3. Patients book directly, with clear guidance

Clicking “View details” shows patients everything their provider included to confidently book: address, phone, email, and any specific booking instructions. Booking and payment are handled directly with the phlebotomist outside of Fullscript, making the experience simple and self-serve—without added coordination from your team.

Whether it’s a long-time clinic partner or a go-to mobile service, Fullscript now helps patients follow your recommendation with ease—removing friction and driving follow-through on testing.

Independent Phlebotomy Options

Now patients can find and book a local phlebotomist for specialty lab tests—with a helpful directory available as they review their plan.

1. Patients choose to find their own sample collection service

When reviewing a specialty test in their cart, patients can enter their zip code and view third-party phlebotomy options using an interactive map. They’ll be guided to book separately after purchase.

2. Enter ZIP code to find local options

Patients can search by ZIP code to see a list of mobile and in-office phlebotomists within a 50-mile radius. If no results are available nearby, they’ll be prompted to reach out to Fullscript Support to find the best option..

3. Review detailed phlebotomist info

Each phlebotomist listing includes:

  • Service type (mobile, in-office, or both)
  • Booking methods (email, phone, or website)
  • Address and coverage area
  • Operating hours
  • Additional special notes or instructions
  • Price

Patients can easily reference this information to schedule their blood draw.

At-home blood draws with Getlabs

If mobile phlebotomy is the favored option, patients pay for and book their Getlabs appointment directly through their Fullscript account.

From the Test Details screen, they can:

  • Search for mobile phlebotomy services within 50 miles of their zip code
  • Select an available date and 2-hour arrival window for their appointment
  • Add instructions for the phlebotomist such as directions, parking, or patient preferences
  • Receive timely reminders via email and SMS ahead of their visit

What This Means For Your Practice:

Patients are presented with several options to have their blood drawn for specialty tests, driving follow-through and continuity of care.

  • Use who you trust: Already have a go-to phlebotomist? Set them in Fullscript and they’ll appear as the default option for your patients—mobile or in-office.
  • Simplify appointment booking: Patients can find the most contenient phlebotomy option without leaving Fullscript, whether it’s directly booking a mobile appointment with Getlabs, or referring to independent options, including preferred phlebotomists set by providers.
  • Increase patient adherence: With booking options embedded into the patient flow, there’s less drop-off between test order and follow-through. That means faster results, better outcomes, and fewer missed opportunities for care.

The Bottom Line

Preferred phlebotomists, local draw options, and expanded mobile blood draws with Getlabs all come together to help patients complete their specialty lab tests without hassle—and help providers keep lab workflows centralized, fast, and consistent.
