Probiota BactriX

ProBiota BactriX by Seeking Health is a multi-species bacteriophage and probiotic formulation providing 15 mg of PrePhage™ prebiotic blend and approximately 5 billion CFU of seven lactobacillus and bifidobacterium probiotic species, in a dairy-free, gluten-free vegetarian capsule. This unique bacteriophage/probiotic supplement may help support the proliferation of beneficial bacteria in the intestinal tract as well as a healthy immune system. 

The word "bacteriophage" derives from the Greek word for "to eat or devour" and the New Latin "bacteria." Bacteriophages are widely found in water, soil, food, and within the bodies of both animals and humans. They are highly specified viruses that target only certain bacteria, and continuously adapt along with the bacteria to retain efficacy. The types of bacteriophages included in this formula are "lytic," meaning they can only replicate via the lytic cycle and target only specific bacteria. Some lytic phages have been approved for use in conventional foods to minimize the spread of foodborne pathogens. They are GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) and frequently consumed as naturally occurring or added parts of the human diet.

When properly balanced, the intestinal microbiota may help protect against overgrowth of intestinal pathogens, support normal colonic motility, optimize digestion, contribute to healthy vitamin and mineral absorption from food, modulate healthy immune responses, and support healthy inflammatory processes in the intestinal tract and throughout the body. Unfortunately, the delicate microecological balance of the intestinal tract can be disrupted by many factors including poor diet, excessive alcohol intake, use of antibiotics or other medications, stress, aging, and exposure to environmental pollutants. Consuming certain beneficial organisms, known as probiotics, as part of a nourishing diet with plenty of fiber may help support a balanced, protective, health-promoting intestinal microbiota.

ProBiota BactriX contains seven highly effective Lactobacillus, Streptococcus and Bifidobacterium species chosen on the basis of their ability to survive passage through the gastrointestinal tract and support healthy gastrointestinal and immune function. ProBiota BactriX also contains PrePhage™ prebiotic blend: four highly specific bacteriophages, which work alongside the probiotic blend to enhance colonization and promote the growth of healthy intestinal microflora. Unlike other prebiotic blends, which contain insoluble fibers that may ferment and cause uncomfortable gas or bloating, PrePhage™ can effectively support the growth of beneficial bacteria in the GI tract in smaller doses, becomes active quickly in both the large and small intestines, and does not ferment (meaning no gas or bloating).

As a dietary supplement, take one capsule per day with a meal, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
