Also known as coconut palm sugar, coconut sugar can be used as an equal replacement for other sweeteners such as agave, turbinado, evaporated cane juice or refined white sugar.
 

Foods Alive's coconut sugar is a sustainable, healthy, low-glycemic alternative to common sweeteners. Made by evaporated the coconut sap, which is hand-harvested by traditional sugar farmers who climb high into the canopy of coconut palsm to gently slice the blossoms from their stems and collect the sweet nectar.
 

The collected nectar is kettle-boiled into a thick caramel syrup, which is dehydrated, and ground into crystals. Since it is less processed, it retains a natural caramel color and taste.
