At Fullscript, we place a high importance on community—it’s even one of our core values

In recognition of the mutual benefits of collaboration and education, we launched a Student Internship program. By combining fresh ideas and insights with mentorship opportunities, we can help even more people get better.

We recently asked two of our upcoming graduates what the Student Internship program means to them. Full of insights and inspiration, we’ve shared their thoughts and experiences below.

About the Student Internship program

The Fullscript Student Internship program gives students in an integrative medicine program the opportunity to collaborate with mentors at Fullscript. Students develop career skills, grow their network, and receive meaningful mentorship. In addition, students are encouraged to provide insightful feedback as we continue to innovate and grow in the field of integrative health.

A student voice with impact

Clara Sartor's experience with Fullscript

Clara deemed her time with Fullscript as “engaging, enlightening, and empowering.” Working closely with our Internal Medical Advisory team, Clara compiled research, wrote content, and audited projects, ultimately supporting practitioners and creating better patient outcomes.

Clara also joined our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council. As a member, she felt empowered seeing the impact her voice and input made at all different levels of the company.

Never have I ever worked at a place where the work culture was so strong in supporting a sense of community and where wellness of the employees was so highly prioritized.” – Clara Sartor

Her integrative medicine journey

After conventional medicine failed her and members of her family over the years, Clara became passionate about finding an individualized approach to health. To Clara, integrative health is the solution to this idea as it combines all appropriate integrative therapies into a holistic approach.

I believe the best form of medicine is an individualized approach. Therapies that work for one individual may not work for another, even if the symptoms, pathology, and etiology are similar.” – Clara Sartor

Clara’s next steps after graduation

Upon graduating from SCNM, Clara plans to complete her Doctor of Acupuncture degree at Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. From there, she sees herself moving back to the east, to be close to her family and begin working at a local practice.

In terms of the future, Clara has a goal of owning an interdisciplinary clinic, offering a variety of treatment options and medical perspectives. Overall, she hopes to provide greater access to integrative, individualized medicine to the people in her community.

Combining education and inspiration

Katrina Krutzik’s time with Fullscript

Productive, educational, and opportunistic are the three words Katrina would use to describe her time working with Fullscript. To her, the Student Internship program was very individualized to the needs and interests of each student involved.

Inspired by the overall work ethic and sense of community at Fullscript, Katrina feels that she was able to learn and grow immensely during her time in the program.

Having the entire Internal Medical Advisory team behind my back through every step, was comforting and empowering.” – Katrina Krutzik

Her take on integrative medicine

To Katrina, integrative medicine is the most efficient and effective delivery of care for both the patient and practitioners involved. A team-based approach that incorporates a variety of expertise can potentially yield better care and patient outcomes.

Integrative care is a unique yet emerging way to approach healthcare that I believe has the best outcomes.” – Katrina Krutzik

Katrina’s next steps after graduation

After graduation, Katrina hopes to find a role as an associate chiropractic medicine doctor in a  private practice with a focus on pregnancy and pediatric care. With Katrina’s writing experience during her time with Fullscript, she plans to continue contributing integrative care content.

The bottom line

Community plays a critical role in our company and fuels our Student Internship program. We know we work best when we combine different perspectives to reach a shared goal together. Regardless of role, we believe everyone can both learn and teach from one another.
