1. Sign the athenahealth “Authorization and Consent” form and contact us
Sign the athenahealth Authorization & Consent form to authorize the Fullscript + athenahealth integration. You will get an email from athenahealth when the integration is enabled on your account.
2. Subscribe All Users to the Fullscript App
In athenahealth Settings, enter Practice Manager Admin, and Configure Embedded App User Subscriptions. Edit the Fullscript app to control who can see it. For an optimal experience, we recommend you enable the app for All Users.
3. Once enabled, navigate to a patient’s chart
Then, click on the Apps icon on the left-hand navigation, then click on Fullscript.
4. Sign in
Simply sign in using your Fullscript credentials.
5. Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
If there is no BAA on file for your account, you’ll be asked to sign a BAA document. Click Open DocuSign to begin. Please note that only account owners can sign the BAA.
Frequently asked questions
What is the athenahealth Authorize & Consent (A&C) form and how do I submit it?
The Authorize and Consent form is a requirement from athenahealth to enable a 3rd-party integration such as Fullscript. Simply review and sign it here and wait for the athenahealth team to let you know that the integration is enabled. This athenahealth team will send an email confirming receipt and a follow up email once approved and the integration is enabled on the athenahealth end. Once enabled, the Fullscript app will be available under “Apps” in the patient chart in athenahealth. You will need to have a Fullscript account and execute a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) in order to use the application.
Why do I need a Business Associate Agreement (BAA with Fullscript to enable the athenahealth integration?
All athenahealth marketplace partners are required to execute BAA with accounts wanting to access their integrations. We have a standard BAA we can share with your team. Please email us with your:
- Legal Entity Name
- Main Address
- Signatory’s Name
- Signatory’s Email Address
We will follow up by providing a BAA via DocuSign for easy execution.
How do I enable the Fullscript + athenahealth integration and configure other providers within my practice to access the integration?
First there are several administrative items you will need to execute:
With athenahealth:
- Complete the athenahealth Authorize & Consent. Athenahealth will then enable the Fullscript app for your practice.
- As a Practice Manager, log into athenahealth, and through Settings -> Practice Manager Admin, Configure Embedded App User Subscriptions. We recommend making the Fullscript app available to “All Users.”
With Fullscript:
- Ensure your Fullscript account is setup and complete with your approved medical license/certificate uploaded. Don’t have an account? Create a free account now.
- Execute a Business Associate Agreement with Fullscript.
Once everything above is in place, we’ll send an email to let you know that you’re now able to access the Fullscript + athenahealth integration.

Where do I access the Fullscript integration within athenahealth?
Once enabled, navigate to a patient’s chart and click on the Apps icon on the left hand navigation, then click on Fullscript. Once you have sent a recommendation it will automatically create a Consult Note labeled “Supplements” with the treatment plan details.
How do I add a patient to Fullscript via the integration?
Once the Fullscript integration is fully enabled within athenahealth you can access the Fullscript treatment plan writing tool under the Apps icon while in a patient chart. Create Fullscript profiles for new patients using their athenahealth information, or match to an existing patient profile if you’ve used Fullscript with them before
