University Hospitals Integrates with Fullscript to Streamline Supplement Recommendations for Patients
CLEVELAND, OH (May 12, 2026) – University Hospitals, one of the nation’s leading academic health systems, today launched an innovative new collaboration with Fullscript, a leading healthcare platform for whole person care, to recommend and distribute high-quality supplements and vitamins directly to their patients.
“Patients are already choosing supplements,” said Paul R. Hinchey, MD, MBA, University Hospitals Chief Operating Officer. “Our collaboration with Fullscript, integrated directly into Epic, gives care teams clearer insight and a consistent, evidence‑informed workflow—supporting safer decisions, more coordinated care, and a more convenient patient experience.”
Nearly three-quarters of patients incorporate supplements into their wellness routines, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Almost eight in ten doctors recommend supplements to their patients. Fullscript offers providers access to supplements and wellness products from third-party brands. These products support a range of health needs -- including immune system support, nutrient and vitamin deficiencies, blood sugar support, and bone health.
“Providers across a wide range of specialties incorporate nutrition and supplements as part of comprehensive, patient-centered care. Fullscript makes it easier for patients to access high-quality products recommended by their provider, stay on track, and achieve better health outcomes,” said Jacob Wolf, ND, LAc, DipACLM, naturopathic doctor and medical director of acupuncture with University Hospitals Connor Whole Health.
This collaboration enables University Hospitals’ providers to recommend supplements directly within Epic’s Medications Management workflow—allowing providers to send supplement recommendations without leaving the EHR. Providers now have greater insight into where patients purchase their products, and patients gain access to their clinician-recommended supplements through a trusted platform, with products delivered directly to their homes.
“Connor Whole Health brings proven expertise in thoughtful, evidence-based supplementation, ensuring the Fullscript integration supports safe, high-quality, whole-person care across UH," said Dr. Kristi Artz, MD, MS, Vice President of UH Connor Whole Health.
“University Hospitals is committed to delivering the best outcomes, service, and value with the highest quality through a continuous quest for excellence. Fullscript is excited to partner on that mission by being embedded in the provider’s workflow to deliver the highest quality of clinically relevant products to their patients.” said Dr. Jeff Gladd, chief medical officer at Fullscript.
