NEM

Multiple clinical trials have shown that NEM reduces joint pain and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis, and reduces joint pain and stiffness caused by moderate-intensity aerobic exercise. NEM is comprised of (shell-free) eggshell membranes, a natural source of the glycosaminoglycans found in cartilage, including dermatan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate, hexosamines such as glucosamine, as well as hyaluronic acid and collagen type I. In vitro and in vivo trials indicate that NEM has multiple mechanisms of action, including the inhibition of several proinflammatory cytokines associated with joint inflammation, such as interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α).
