Vitamin D3 Balance provides 10,000 IU (250 mcg) per capsule because vitamin D levels are insufficient in many people due to public health recommendations to minimize sun exposure, our primary source of this nutrient.* Also, vitamin D isn’t abundant in the typical Western diet, therefore supplementation is essential for many people.* Most high-dose Vitamin D3 products do not include important co-factor nutrients which are found in Vitamin D3 Balance. While vitamin D3 is crucial for enhancing calcium absorption, high doses can lead to problems by increasing the risk of calcium deposits in the arteries.*

The co-factors, vitamins K2 and A, help balance elevated levels of vitamin D and support blood vessel health, by preventing calcium oversaturation and reducing the risk of improper arterial calcium deposits.* Vitamin D3 and A support immune function, specifically helper T cells, neutrophils, and macrophage function, and maintain a normal inflammatory response.* They share a receptor, so it’s beneficial to take both for proper balance.*

Vitamin K2 isn’t stored in the body like other lipid soluble vitamins, so it requires daily dosing for optimal function. K2 is available in supplement form as MK-7 and MK-4, however, MK-7 is the more bioavailable and active form of K2, allowing for once-daily dosing, which makes it the superior option.* Conversely, MK-4 has a short half-life and requires multiple doses throughout the day. Most products contain only 100 mcg of MK-7 to save on costs. However, Vitamin D3 Balance contains 250 mcg of MK-7 to ensure efficacy.* Supplementation Take one capsule every other day or as directed by your health care practitioner.
