Hydrochloric acid and Pepsin for optimum gastric digestive function

• HCl contains betaine HCl and glutamic HCl which help acidify the gastric contents, creating a favorable environment for the proteolytic action of pepsin.
• Appropriate gastric acidity appears to be required for the normal absorption of iron, beta-carotene and vitamins B6 and B12 from food sources.
• Gastric acidity constitutes a major non-specific first-line defense mechanism against food-borne microbes, warding off potential pathogenesis which thrives in a hypochlorhydric environment.

 

Suggested Use: One or more capsules, taken with meals, or as directed.
