The following may be considered according to requirements for additional support:

  • Prokinetics are helpful for IBS-C, including melatonin, ginger (found in Pro GI Repair), and 5-HTP.
  • Ensure 5-6 hours between meals to encourage Migrating Motor Complex (MMC) activity.
  • In patients with insomnia as a co-morbidity, melatonin has been shown to module gastric motility and provide benefit in this condition.
  • Consider avoiding antigenic foods, which contribute to the reduction of IgA and promote chronic intestinal inflammation.
