-Glandular concentrate with factors for adrenal support.

AdrenaCort supplies freeze-dried, BSE-free, adrenal cortex, along with a complex of factors that support the function of the adrenal glands. Pantothenic acid and vitamin C are required for adrenocortical steroid synthesis, and licorice contains compounds that inhibit the catabolism of glucocorticoids, thus extending their life and activity. Bioflavonoids are added for their ascorbic acid-enhancing effects.

• AdrenaCort supplies a complex of factors that support the function of the adrenal glands, particularly the adrenal cortex.
• Animal studies have shown oral adrenal extracts to produce similar effects as injectable extracts (Boll Chim Farm1971;110:457-62).
• Licorice contains compounds with mineralocorticoid activity that reduce the catabolism of glucocorticoids, thus extending their life and activity in the body (Endocrinology 1993;132:2287-92; Endocrin Regulations 1994;28:31-4).
• Micronutrients known to be important for normal adrenal function include vitamin C, vitamin B5 (d-calcium pantothenate), magnesium, and zinc (Textbook of Natural Medicine,  1999, 549).

Suggested Use: 3-6 capsules daily, or as directed.
