Webinar
—Antioxidant Supplementation for Male and Female Fertility

November 16, 2021
  1. Webinars
  2. Antioxidant Supplementation for Male and Female...

In this webinar, fertility experts Dr. Ashok Agarwal, PhD, and Dr. Botros Peter Rizk, MD, MA, FRCOG, FRCS, HCLD, FACOG, FACS, will discuss how oxidative stress impacts male and female fertility, and the research supporting oral supplementation with antioxidants for improving fertility. Dr. Agarwal will discuss the factors responsible for the rise in male infertility. Increasing evidence suggests that oxidative stress (OS) plays an independent role in the etiology of male infertility, with 30% to 80% of infertile men having elevated seminal reactive oxygen species levels. He will explain how OS can negatively affect fertility via a number of pathways, which may impair the sperm’s potential to fertilize an egg and develop into a healthy embryo. And Dr. Agarwal will discuss how the use of antioxidants to reduce oxidative stress across a range of etiologies and risk factors of male infertility is gaining much attention. Dr. Rizk will share clinical study data showing the impact that antioxidants can have on IVF outcomes when added to culture medium. He will also discuss the results of a recent clinical trial evaluating the benefit of oral antioxidant supplementation on clinical pregnancy rates in IVF patients. and when taken orally. In this webinar, you’ll:

  • Understand oxidative stress and its impact on male and female fertility, including the impact of oxidative stress in the etiology of endometriosis, PCOS, and suboptimal sperm function
  • Review new clinical trials on the use of antioxidants for supporting male and female fertility
  • Examine antioxidants as a therapeutic intervention
