Black History Month Brand Highlight
Owners and co-presidents, Ted and Paige Parker, have expanded the company through hard work, dedication, and love. The owners, who are a husband and wife team, began their journey into nutritional supplementation separately, but for a common goal; to achieve optimal health.
After years in the marketing and business side of the industry, this goal led Ted to connect with nutrition scientist Mark Timon and this began his journey with Vibrant Health. Eventually purchasing the company in 2007, Ted and Paige have helped to shape the vision of the company and ensure consistent delivery of the highest quality and most effective nutritional supplements. Having the opportunity to share their personal health journeys and the ability to see how their products have impacted the lives of their customers continues to inspire Ted and Paige to this day.
Vibrant Health ranks 81 on the Black Enterprise List of the nation’s largest Black-owned businesses and recently made the Forbes list of Blacked-owned businesses to support. The company has been trusted since 1992 and is proud to deliver nutrition people can trust, sourcing and managing every raw ingredient for maximum quality and potency.
Naturade (ProSymbiotics) is a nutraceutical company focused on ending diet-related illnesses in underrepresented communities. Founded in 1992 and acquired by Kareem Cook and Claude Tellis in 2012, it’s one of a handful of Black-owned companies in the natural product industry.
Recognizing how many people in their families suffered from diet-related illnesses, and believing that everyone should have access to quality food regardless of income, location, and race, the business partners wanted to create products that fill that gap in the industry and provide healthier options for the underserved communities.
This led them to position Naturade (ProSymbiotics) to address the diet-related illnesses epidemic in underserved communities by providing “Whole Foods quality products to a Walmart consumer.” Today, they are inspired by helping people live healthier lives by changing their diets.
Naturade (ProSymbiotics) products consist of weight loss shakes, nutritional shakes, and gut health supplements. They can be found online and in retail, having recently gained distribution in Costco, Whole Foods, and Target.
